On Saturday, I fly to Amsterdam to attend the Be Inspired Bentley Thought Leadership Conference held at the Hotel Okura.
The way the Be Inspired Conference is set up is as follows: unlike the basic user conference, this is a conference celebrating the achievements of the finalists for the Be Inspired Awards of the current year. A maximum of three finalists in each category are chosen and invited to present their project in breakout sessions called “Thought Leadership Presentations.” The Be Inspired Conference attracts award finalists and journalists from all over the world, culminating in an awards dinner on Wednesday evening. The Netherlands is known for its infrastructure – the very existence of the country has depended on windmills and dykes that keep land and sea separate. COO Malcolm Walter said at last year’s opening keynote that without infrastructure to pump water and keep it in bay, everything would be under water.
