Article source: Studio Kalamar Project: Renovation of the Delavski dom landmark building, preserving the urban dominant feature at the entrance to the city centre. The 1938 addition to the original structure is replaced by a new structure, following existing elevation line. Structuring of volumes on the southern edge paraphrases the urban pattern of surrounding villas.
Concept: White sheath of the renovated corner building is extended into black texture of the new addition. Monofunctional use ensues into monoform, which addresses the city in deep chorus volume and allows the old landmark building to perform the solo part. All else is a composition of programmes, caught behind a red wall and in a silver tower, addressing the lengthy Kolizej Building and adjoining cell structure of villas.
