Bangkok base multi disciplinary Apostrophy’s has done the new hi-light “Imagination Light Garden” lighten the area after the sunset at the International Horticultural Exposition Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011, during 14 December 2011 – 14 March 2012 held at the Royal Rajapruek Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The concept of “Imagination Light Garden” is inspired from the image of the old lady give a withered lotus bouquet to King Bhumibol. King Bhumibol bends himself to receive the lotus from the old lady. That image can illustrate how the kindness of his majesty the king. Moreover, ‘Lotus’ is the symbol of Buddhism, the major religion in Thailand. So, lotus has been used into every part of this garden which divide into 5 parts; Bloom Field, Star Marine, Black light Field, Anodard Lake and Twilight Field. ‘Imagination Light Garden’ is approximate 6,300 square meters area covered with about 2 millions light bulb including LED light strings, Light sculpture, interactive feature and a full set of event lighting. The design team divides it into 5 parts. For the first part ‘Bloom Field’ is composed of several lotus light sculpture. The purpose is to create the welcoming atmosphere before the visitor walk to the next part. Next part, ‘Star Marine’ is composed of butterflies flock light sculpture which can plume to the music among the interactive lighting field which create the lighting wave pattern follows to the hand moving. They are surrounded with Thai folk fish trap lamps. Moreover, there are the groups of ‘Solar Cell Flower’ which collect the energy at noon and lighten themselves at night. The design team aim to promote the sustainable energy ‘Solar Cell’ to spread out widely. Beside of the ‘Solar Cell Flower’ is ‘Black Light Field’. This part is composed of a hundred of fluorescent painted flower which glow at night surprisingly. Afterward, ‘Anodard Lake’ is name in Buddhist mythology which the designer used it as the main concept ‘a peaceful lake’. To describe this concept, the designer creates the dynamic and dramatic scene by arranging the flocks of fish light sculpture which jump to the music among the group of lotus light sculpture. It let the visitors bring their imagination to imagine ‘How is ‘Anodard Lake’ look like’ And finally part ‘Twilight Field’ purpose to warm down the visitor because this part is adjacent to Buddhist statue pavilion. There are two line of local rattan flower lamps entwined the LED lighting field. The designer team aims to impresses the visitor before leaving this imagination light garden.
