Regular visitors of the Symposium of Contemporary Art of Baie-Saint-Paul, ARCHITECTURAMA conducted in 2010 a conceptual study demonstrating the potential for improving the physical layout of the event located in the municipal arena. Summarizing the deficiencies and opportunities, the study was made on a voluntary basis. In 2011, the study was used by the museum to apply for subsidy. A mandate to carry out the project for the 30th anniversary edition followed.
NEXT architects is awarded a first prize in an international competition in Meixi Lake besides Changsha capital of Hunan province in China. NEXT designed a bridge that is more than just a connection. The pedestrian bridge is one of the key projects within the Dragon King Harbor River development part of the vast development of the new lake district. Construction is scheduled for next year.

Anthology I & II is the title of ceramicist Pascale Girardin’s latest artwork, which has recently been unveiled in the Peninsula Hotel, New York, NY. The culmination of eight months work and throwing of over 1200 stoneware pieces, the twin sculptures are an important milestone for the Canadian artist, marking her first public work to be installed in the Big Apple.
The highly anticipated new terminal at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, Guangdong, China, will be operational from the 28 November, 2013. The first airport by acclaimed architects Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas it is set to become an iconic landmark that will boost the economic development of Shenzhen – one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. Won by international competition, it has undergone a remarkably rapid process of design and construction, completing within 3 years. The client, Shenzhen Airport (Group) Co., is so pleased with the striking design that it is taking the unusual step of trying to copyright it.

Materials: Steel with a concrete substructure. 52,000 tonnes of steel was used, with an additional 260,000 tonnes of reinforcement. It has won the ‘Steel Gold Award (National Quality Engineering)’.
Sustainability: The design has been optimised to make best use of natural ventilation and light. Photovoltaics will meet the electricity demand of T3, making about 950 million electricity units each year. Future photovoltaic generation is expected to reach a capacity of 10MW that will be used to support the electronic devices of the entire airport.

Orientation: The main building includes two-storey underground and four layers above the ground (partial five storeys). The fourth floor is the departure hall. The third floor is connected with the domestic departing passengers channel and the center of it is the international joint inspection zone, luggage collection/checkpoint and the office area located on both sides. The domestic passage channel, luggage claim hall and part of the office area are on the second floor. At the north east part of the first floor is the international departure hall. Its center is used for the international joint inspection zone and also the luggage claim hall. In front of the first floor stand the CIP lounges. Between it and the main building stands the outdoor courtyard.
On the edge of the centre of Eindhoven sixteen townhouses and eighteen apartments were built above a communal basement garage, in a setting in which every direction has a different character. The apartments are located in a tower built on columns situated in the Dommelplantsoen. A compact, low-rise development of patio dwellings with strategic views of the park-like surroundings is located on the other side of the repositioned Zwembadweg.
Renfe recognised the need to move the current corporate restaurant, situated above the platforms on Avda. Ciudad de Barcelona, to a new location on platform 6. The objective was updated, functional and representative premises that service the staff of the office buildings situated on these platforms in a distinctive location.
The “Pasteur ” social residence, with a capacity of 165 studios, is part of a process of relocating migrant workers within two residences , as part of the treatment plan of Homes Migrant Workers , led by the national CILPI organism . This change status is to remove the collective accommodation towards an individual and autonomous housing. This is also included in a larger program redevelopment of the St. Louis neighborhood in Carrières sous Poissy (78), in the great parisian suburbs.
Multi-disciplinary studio +tongtong recently completed a boutique retail space for Black Toe Running, a new high-end running store situated in downtown Toronto. Inspired equally by elite running culture and its urban locale, the space is nestled at the base of a condo building on King Street West – a major artery for condo development and a common route for urban runners. “It’s an interesting location,” Tong explains, “You might expect a café or a corner store, but Black Toe offers something that a lot of people who live and work in the neighbourhood actually engage with.”
