Interior Renovation of Restaurant – Porto II in Portugal by Miguel Nery ArquitecturaApril 2nd, 2013 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: Miguel Nery Arquitectura The project brief involved a restaurant, that was once considered a point of reference in the city, occupying a plot measuring 5×60 meters, a minimal budget and the customer’s wish for it to be able to function with ease throughout its long daily opening period (8 a.m. to midnight). The proposed solution attempts to take advantage of the full potential of the existing space (both interior and exterior), thereby reducing the work to a minimum.
Acoustic comfort, lighting (natural and artificial) and the use of recycled materials (leftovers of plywood panelling for the walls and white marble for flooring) or recyclable materials (wooden structures) form part of our ongoing commitment and research concerning the theme of economic, environmental and social sustainability.
