Dara Huang, has established an architectural firm fusing together her talent’s in art and architectural design. She has already established a great client list featuring Samsung and her past experience includes the new development of the Tate Modern in London and Manolo Blahnik stores worldwide.  Image Courtesy © DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY Converting a 10,000sq. ft marketing communications agency called AnalogFolk in London (Clerkenwell) was one of DH Liberty’s first projects. Design Haus Liberty took on the task of injecting sculptural modernism into a traditional London Building. The design at DH Liberty opened up the building into a large, industrial loft-like working space. Adding in a Mezzanine floor to enhance the space in the building, a new staircase and adding a new glazed façade.  Image Courtesy © DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY AnalogFolk, which makes and markets interactive experiences, wanted to incorporate the company ethos throughout DH Liberty’s designs. Design Haus Liberty defined the goal architecturally by using reclaimed “found” objects and giving them a new life in the AnalogFolk office. Bespoke items included a scaffolding library with telephone booths concealed inside and reclaimed doors digitally water-jet cut. Using recycled bottles and digital applications such as scripting and 3d computer programs, DH Liberty injected old bottles into a tremendous work of chandelier lighting.  Image Courtesy © DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY Young entrepreneur Dara Huang has established Design Haus Liberty, an architectural and design firm situated in Notting Hill’s Westbourne Grove. Established in November 2012, Dara Huang has pulled together talented team of architects, planners and designers to create a studio focused on combining art, materiality and space. Selected upcoming projects include: Daruma a restaurant in Hong Kong, One Fine Stay Headquarters in London, and an upcoming luxury hotel fit-out in London.  Image Courtesy © DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY About Dara After receiving her Master degree at Harvard University, Dara Huang’s previous design experience include contributing to the new Tribeca skyscraper, 56 Leonard Street in New York City; The New Tate Modern Museum in London; Manolo Blahnik stores worldwide; and was personally invited to compete for the design of the Samsung Pavilion for the London Olympics 2012.  Image Courtesy © DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY Dara has gained invaluable experience at Pritzker Prize winning firms, honing her skills by working one-on-one with Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron of Herzog de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland and Foster + Partners in London. She has been the recipient of various awards including: The Clifford Wong Prize, The KPF Traveling Fellowship, The Young Architects Award and First Place in The AIAS National Design Review Competition.  Image Courtesy © DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY The daughter of a NASA scientist who emigrated from Taiwan to the United States, Dara grew up in multi-cultural surroundings influenced by living in places like Tokyo, Basel and New York City. Dara Huang’s designs reflect a cross between contemporary art, fashion, and industrial and modern architecture.
