Ski tracks in dobbledance leads to the inner centre. The Amfhie: The Mountain landscape brought into the city by establishing a continuous, rolling countryside carpet surrounded by mountains that connects the landscape from the train platform to the inner centre. The amphitheatre is given a playful and rough design that also works as a major concert spot for 4000 people. The design has provided a clear new identity and contributes brand Geilo as a distinct destination both nationally and internationally Interior, exterior, landscape, architecture and brand now appears in an overall coherent identity boost for the National Park village of Geilo. The pedestrian area is approximately 400meters long. Under the middle part is a 2 floor-parking house is located with direct access to the amphitheatre and retail centre. Most shops on the pedestrian plan are a renewed focus on small shops and sport shops. The design is inspired by the surrounding nature. The amphitheatre is emerging as a river valley between mirror images of Hallingsskarvet Mountain. The middle broken up into large rock surfaces as dry river ravines the amphitheatre and pedestrian is performed in two stone modular system overlap. The Amphie cover is a large bright flake, composed of 10 cm wide granite strips flexible to be shaped in the steep sections. Rough surface of the granite is used in all walking areas for applying a natural feeling unlike normal cities urban polished surfaces. The pedestrian area is covered with dark granite. The mountainsides are built in Corte steel modules that lock the gravel masses. Lighting columns inspired by tracks snow cannons. LED is used in all lighting, columns, cliffs and ski trails. The fences are designed specifically for this project, and will withstand use as rails. ACO drainage project is designed with track from the national park’s five prim animals. Rogue Trees are used in the amphitheatre. Turf from the mountain pastures in the valley is arranged in an amphitheatre under the Corte Mountains. The two lower mountains are opened as barley: toilet, access to parking the garage, and the event base. The building walls are in corten steel similar to the rock face.
