Article source: Koffi & Diabaté Architectes Here, our goal was to go beyond the traditional and to create a building in conformity with religious norms, all the while being modern, imposing and reflective of the spirit of the city. A building structure with character, both simple and intricate in its design details, with an emphasis put on natural ventilation. The project was built as a part of our community projects initiatives (donating the architecture) with the help of local residents.
Our works in the coastal city of Assinie‐Mafia, Côte d’Ivoire, are part of a large urban landscaping project by Koffi & Diabaté Architectes (currently in progress) centered on the development of an eco‐friendly city where notions of sustainable development are fully integrated in building design concepts and a new “coastal” aesthetic is being introduced, locally.
