Office and commercial building – H113 Glattpark in Opfikon, Switzerland by Fischer Architekten AGSeptember 15th, 2015 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: Fischer Architekten AG Precisely positioned in the urban context, the building with its clear cubic lines easily fits into the existing cluster of industrial and office buildings, and forms an architecturally sophisticated urban component for implementing the “Glattpark” idea.
The material concept leads to the facade structure and interior design, and ultimately flows through the entire building as the architectural supporting pillar up to and including the typography. This is pragmatic, simple, clear and flexible in line with current needs. The choice of the facade material, metal, is determined by future use – a metal workshop with office space on the upper floors. The different-direction chamfering stimulates three-dimensional perception, with surfaces oscillating between addition and interweaving. Depending on the position of the sun, the building appears homogeneous, modular or floor-staggered, while visually always compact. In addition, the cassette-like facade elements enable an intelligent joint system that avoids exposed joints. Contact Fischer Architekten AG
