Article source: SICART & SMITH ARCHITECTS Taps Club is a new concept of beer club in HCMC which raise up the definition of what a beer club could be, combined with a fine restaurant.Located in the third district of HCMC (147 Truong Dinh), the club / restaurant aim to host the emerging middle Vietnamese class.Food – Fun – Friends are the main motto.
Located in an existing large metallic structure of 900m2, SICART & SMITH ARCHITECTS with Tra Mi Lam Van and Hai Dong (project architects) have developed an industrial chic design. The project is composed of the main entertainment room, a VIP corner, a stage to host DJ and Live music, a large show kitchen and a long bar counter where the display is quite unique in Vietnam. The beer kegs are stored behind the bar in a dedicated cold room which allowed clearance in the bar.4 pipes from this cold room are running in the main area to distribute exclusive fresh draft beer on 4 tables in the middle of the main room where the guest can pour its own beer. This feature has been emphasizing in the design by highlighting the pipe course. In the design nearly everything is costume made. The VIP and bar walls are made with perforated rusted metal sheet with back light illumination. The chairs are designed to provide rotation and comfort. The tables are smartly covered by homogenous ceramic tiles to facilitate the cleaning and the maintenance. Women toilet has been particularly cared to provide a make-up area and socialise sofa for chat and selfie. The ceiling is composed with “clouds” (metal mesh) and “veil” (suspended fabric) both shot by RGB lighting to create various atmospheres. Lighting and ceiling ambiance has been particularly designed to ensure the mood can be adapted, following the progress of the night and the party. Taps club is dedicated to be franchise, so the architects have taking care this in their creation to ensure that the project can become a series for cost and production.
