Leading Family Hotel & Resort Dachsteinkönig in Gosau, Austria by Arkan Zeytinoglu ArchitectsFebruary 16th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: Arkan Zeytinoglu Architects A high-end family hotel in the middle of the biggest skiing and hiking region of Upper Austria – the new Leading family Hotel & Resort Dachsteinkönig is going to exceed all expectations. Its ground breaking took place in December 2014 and is planned to be completed by the end of 2016.
The basic idea is that the hotel complex itself becomes a village. Above a plinth level that takes the form of a built landscape the elements containing the guest rooms are laid out singly or in pairs so that they convey the impression of a village structure. Embedded in the landscape, the plinth opens towards the south and defines separate areas for adults and children. The organism with a village structure blends with nature and is operated by making use of renewable energy sources and sunlight and by incorporating sustainable and future-oriented environmental technology. Guests are welcomed in a bright atrium lobby, which is a generously sized and clearly structured entrance area that also functions as a distributor for the hotel. This space links the restaurant areas on one side and the children’s and adults’ worlds on the other. The wellness area is accessible through an own elevator and through another atrium, where the guests can find a gym, a theatre and a teenagers’ club too. Total privacy and luxurious comfort Apart from the main hotel building, families can choose to stay in one of the 15 chalets. They offer everything that allows parents and their kids to enjoy some relaxing, easygoing holidays. Included are a couple of kids rooms with a lot of space, a fireplace and a private sauna. In the hotel, guests can choose among 105 family suites, that offer pure comfort too. A family’s heaven The guests will be treated with the comfort of a four star superior hotel. Part of the huge offer are a 2.000 m² indoor playground that comprises a cinema as well as a theatre, a soft-play area, a gym and an indoor go-kart track, a water and sauna park with water slides, a 1000 m² Spa complex and a recreation program with sports courses such as an indoor golf-simulation – to only name a few.
