MONTEGUSTO in Andria, Italy by STRATO/martino fraschetti vincenzo tattolo
Located in Castel del Monte, Andria (BT), the complex is surrounded by a wonderfull landscape and has a great view to the castle and the surrounding hills. The Agriturism is made up by a group of pre-existing buildings including a small trullo renovated according to the local tradition: the interior spaces have been reinterpreted into a new architectural project with new functions adapted to the hostes’ needs. The outdoor areas are an extension of the interior spaces.
Coming from highway you are immediately felt into a extreme calm sensation, given by the white wall surfaces standing out of on the deep blue sky and green hill of the Castle
The project emphasizes the pursuit of a formal simplicity, the right balance between tradition, architecture and the functional requirements. The dry-stone walls and the rock’s and tufo’s walls underline that intent on the outside.
Inside instead the furniture’s choice, the floor finish in microcemento and lighting, both of the restaurant and of the guest’s rooms, help to create welcoming environments, “genuine”, typical of the local territorial heritage but reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
