Restaurant Kosushi at Shopping Cidade Jardim (one Michellin star Chef George Kosushi) was designed in 2008 by Studio Arthur Casas. It has recently received an upgrade in 2014, in the form of a rooftop expansion.
The initial space was long, narrow, boasting 6m high ceilings and inserted within a glass cube structure – part of the mall’s permanent layout. In order to better accommodate the desired seating capacity for the restaurant, Studio Arthur Casas projected a mezzanine area which also works as an exclusive bar, providing stunning views of the city.
Fixed pivoting doors on the ground floor were exchanged for ‘portas-guilhotina’ (guillotine doors / sliding doors), allowing for full integration between the inside of the restaurant and the terrace area.
