Sumit Singhal

On the first floor we find a room for the preliminary research of materials and the subsequent assembly. To separate the first two zones of the operating area thera are two libraries, fundamental for the division of space. Symbolically libraries represent the architectural culture in its broadest sense, have therefore come ideological valence between professional “labor limae” and delivery of a customer project; the texts hosted the shelves can also be accessed by clients during the match or the wait. The furniture was custom made by the studio and is completed with some iconic pieces of design. The study is also characterized by a predominance of light colors: from white of the walls to the oak of the floor. The light plays a leading role, coming from three great openings and flooding the ground floor of natural light. This is the only place that is foreign to the collective open space and is characterized by its intimacy. By chromaticity and geometries, space communicates the conditions and intentions of the ZDA studio.  Image Courtesy © Matteo Sturla, Ezio Zupelli  Image Courtesy © Matteo Sturla, Ezio Zupelli ABOUT ZDA STUDIO “Zupelli Design Architecture” is a collaboration between Carlo Zupelli and his son Ezio, graduated architects at Politecnico di Milano (the latter has also previously earned a bachelor’s degree in “Interior Design” at the European Institute of Design). In this new professional experience, they intersect the respective paths by defining a shared and complementary ” idea of living “: ZDA takes care of residential architecture, interior design, retail, construction, art direction and product design by following an approach where attention to detail and materials research are the essential elements. By working in symbiosis with craftsmen, the studio offers the possibility of creating products and custom furniture, combinations of shapes and styles that allow the costumer to get a unique result, original and modeled according to specific customer requirements. Taste, balance and functionality, represent therefore the key words of a new way of living and conceiving space, whose ultimate aim is to touch the essence of the architecture.
