Article source: GARDERA-D Architecture The existing headquarters of the Agglomeration community has been established in Bayonne since 1990, in a building located in the heart of a wooded acre in its southern part, accessible from the avenue Foch located below.  Image Courtesy © GARDERA-D Architecture The functional organization of the existing building was characterized by the articulation of services around a vast central and federating atrium. Nevertheless, this layout had the inconvenience of cutting off the visual dialogue between the atrium and the wooded acre in the south. The project has the ambition of re-establishing this connection giving the building a geometric shape echoing the octagonal shape of the existing atrium, as deformed by the presence of the park’s vegetation and the fully preserved pre-existing trees.
