Architecture is not built without matter as it imposes a physuical limit.
The limits of this object reside in the precise definition of its structural ‘parti’ as much as in the desire of achieveing a limitless state.
The brief asked for a versatile space, protected from the seasonal changes of weather but open to the river breeze in warmer days.
The condition of its openings is such that the object becomes with ease a ‘covered’ esplanade.
The structure is based on the beehive nest, allowing big spans of 27m circa.
The architecture should mirror of the structural condition.
The precision, rigour, repetition of the structural module is complemented by the ilimited expressive possibilities: plays with shadow and light, transparency and opacity.
The Project pressuposes the precarious equilibrium of its light structure where this falls into almost visual oblivion.
