Article source: Studio Munge Located in the heart of fashionable Williamsburg, Leuca is the latest addition to the NoHo Hospitality Group’s collection of New York hot spots. Built within The William Vale hotel, the 5820 sq. ft. venue celebrates Southern Italian cuisine in a menu of wood-fired pizza, earthy pastas and grilled specialties crafted by chef Andrew Carmellini. Meant as an inviting, sophisticated yet approachable setting for travelers and locals alike to socialize in, the soulful 187 seat restaurant was designed following the poetic narrative of a young couple and their little girl relocating from Europe to Brooklyn. The venue is a romantic projection of their childhood spent in Italy and a reminiscence of their Nona’s country house.
Created with the returning guest in mind, Leuca can be experienced in many ways throughout the day. Featuring double height ceilings and soaring windows, the traditionally tiled vestibule, and bar are the perfect setting for breakfast, brunch and cocktails. As the refreshing natural daylight slowly switches to the warmth and glow of oversized pendants, admire the craftsmanship in the custom carved wood details representative of the passion living in those walls. Walking under the roman arches, discover the glowing oak cladded dining room. With its open views onto the bustling kitchen and rich amber hues, it will be your favourite option for evening feasts. Featuring an engaging contemporary art program, Leuca’s dining room has quickly become a favourite in the neighbourhood. With its authentic design details and cuisine, it is no wonder the likes of Prada and Vogue Magazine have already called this restaurant home. For the most intimate of dinner parties, discover the comfortable private dining room. With its glowing coves, whitewashed plastered walls and romantic hand painted marine frescoes, it will transport you to the Mediterranean in an instant. Featuring authentic and honest materials in an extensive custom FF&E program crafted either locally or in Italy, Leuca’s interiors harmoniously complement the Southern Italian menu. Warm and inviting, soulful and grounding are adjectives easily describing both interiors and cuisine resulting in a truly holistic project and hospitality experience.
