Article source: RIMA Arquitectura The offices for NEXT, a company specialized in digital solutions were developed inside of an old hacienda in the west area of Mexico City. The main target of the project was to achieve a design that blended the rustic backdrop of the classic hacienda, with the dynamic and contemporary image of the company in 310 sq m. Therefore, in several areas the original beam and brick ceilings were preserved as well as some characteristic details such as the fireplace that located in the director’s office.
All these makes contrast with the simplicity of the furniture that combines natural wood with vibrant colors, as well as, with the industrial touch of the apparent facilities placed with orthogonal order giving the plafonds and walls a very clean look and the general perception of a very wide space. The operative areas were planned open to take advantage of natural light coming through all the windows surrounding this zone. The private offices were delimited with glass adding transparency and full visibility to all areas. The gray color, on all the project´s walls, gives a neutral balance between the color palette, the contemporary design and the rustic details of the original building. Some recovered wood may be seen on the walls and the furniture that was custom made for this client. A wink of industrial style is evident on the suspended lamps on the open areas. RIMA arquitectura team achieved a functional space with a very contemporary image without losing the warmth provided by the old building of the hacienda. Contact RIMA Arquitectura
