 Image Courtesy © 4otomo The site is positioned on the slopes above Hout Bay overlooking the entire valley and the bay. The house was oriented to maximise views and provide protection from the prevailing South Easter wind. Views were optimised by utilising large openings which were set into deep recesses providing shade in the mornings. Louvered sliding folding shutters provide additional light management and security. The terrace, raised above the slope of the site, also serves as an entrance stoep.
