The Chongqing delegation to the National People’s Congress suggested that the city of Chongqing be the start of the Silk Road economic belt and the hub of a 21st century maritime Silk Road, connecting the Chinese interior with the rest of the world.

Chongqing is at the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River, which connects to the maritime Silk Road.

It is the only municipal city in the mid west region, and also the national central city, connecting the Yangtze River economic belt and the “Silk Road” economic belt.

Different than the East coast of China, the silk industry has more emphasis on silk reprocessing, Western parts is more focused on raw silk production due to its natural weather and soil conditions, mostly in Chongqing and Yunnan areas. Also as the land cost and manpower cost is increasing on the east coast, business is shifting to the west. With the government’s preferential policies, Chongqing’s silk industry has seen some significant developments.

Located in an appropriate location in Bishan near Chongqing the site of Vito’s childhood village, the geographic site is like a circle. A circle with directions to north, south, east and west. Divided in eight categories from number one to number eight we would see different architecture. Using the circle in a perfect definition. The feng shui factor is obvious and will be a great start for our project.
