As a neighbor.” in Moscow, Russia by OFFCON ARCHITECTURE, PLANNING AND DESIGNJanuary 22nd, 2019 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: OFFCON ARCHITECTURE, PLANNING AND DESIGN Dixy is the largest Russian food retail chain, with stores in 700 cities and towns across the country. Nevertheless, the key slogan of the company Dixy – “Simple. Nearby. As a neighbor.”
When we were designing the interior for Dixiy’s office, we decided to fully convey the values of the company. Our main task and idea was to create a feeling of warmth, coziness and a second home in the office, so that each employee and guest of the office felt as comfortable as possible, safe and wanted to return again and again. Total space is 5800 m2, number of employees to move-520 people. The main task is to create an atmosphere of comfort over a large area of the object located in the building of a skyscraper. The task was solved not only by decorating, but with properly selected architectural forms. Conceptual forms that inspired us in creating the interior is a circular, round, smooth, safe and simple forms. A circle usually causes the most pleasant and cozy associations, such as childhood in grandmother’s flat, and also there is a round plate of delicious food on it, and all this is undoubtedly in the circle of beloved relatives and friends. We used the circle as the main form of acoustic panels on the ceilings in the working spaces, complementing them with round lamps in the aisles and meeting rooms. Tables and upholstered furniture in informal areas also have a soft, round shape. The main conceptual idea of the project is also delicious, juicy and appetizing colors and names. It seemed to us that fruits and desserts will not leave anyone indifferent. Therefore, the main color scheme in the new Dixy office is both sweet and beige-brown in the main workspaces and fresh with bright accents in informal communication areas, cafeterias and meeting rooms.
