Article source: A4 STUDIO Situated in the new shopping center in Zrenjanin, the Kovac restaurant has become a place for gathering and relaxation for a very wide spectrum of visitors. Our project task was to project a new interior and give a different visual identity to a well-known city place that will meet the needs of all users and be in line with the international cuisine that is in restaurants menu.
The 340-square-restaurant is organized on two floors. There are also two bars, one on each floor. On the ground floor there are several types of seating for various contents, while the gallery is reserved for an intimate restaurant environment. We used elements of industrial design, warm wooden tones and textures, greenery and light installations to create an eclectic space, the perfect spot for both large parties and more intimate gatherings. The design is a contemporary eclectic-industrial style. Glossy elements are contrasting with natural wooden textures. Retro light bulbs were used for creating a warm general atmosphere. The lighting in combination with strong geometric installation on the ceiling, create a dynamic, impressive and at the same time welcoming space. Greenery takes an important role in this restaurant. Great green wall, metal “cage” with high plants and a lot of planted pots make contrast to all used industrial materials. The simple and clear lines are enriched with highly decorative elements. We tried to use the same style as diversified one covering different textures. In this project, wood and wood imitation. We are interested in joining a variety of materials and colors to create a special non-standard atmosphere. We used Italian and Greek furniture, but also designed some pieces by ourselves; combine metallic elements with the rusty wooden on the tables, adding a touch of warmth to interior through soft leather and cushions made of different fabrics. The project consists in idea to create a concept that could work by day and by night, adaptable to each moment and requirement, starting with a breakfast and coffee during the morning, converting itself in a restaurant during the evening and ending up as a cocktail bar.
