Article source: Direct Tiling Group Ministry of Sound are an entertainment giant founded in 1991. This project marks a new business venture for the Ministry of Sound brand. Initially, they wanted to construct an exclusive co-working space which would inspire & encourage collaboration among professionals. Ministry of Sound wanted to establish a space which was both unique & modern in it’s design, whilst reflecting brand identity & company culture at the core of the space. Throughout the project’s 16 weeks duration, multiple design workshops were hosted for Ministry of Sound, allowing our designers to develop visual concepts & grasp a deeper understanding of the Ministry brand, enabling this to be reflected throughout the design.
Shaping The Design: Establishing a raw identity within the space was central to the design specification of the project. Ensuring this, it was important to expose the building’s original fabric, ensuring we maintained the individual character of the property. In unlocking the rawness of the building, this meant preserving plaster & brickwork in various places, with multiple walls being stripped back to reveal the unique history & nature of the building. Design Envisioned: Alongside Ministry of Sound, we have curated an agile, dynamic & innovative co-working space which extends beyond the boundaries of traditional office design. The entertainment & music theme is constant throughout the co-working space & functions as subtle branding within the office’s design. The workspace is complete with bespoke & quirky furniture throughout, with contrasting elite and impressive finishes with the bare industrial feel of the original building providing a distinct style. The contemporary lounge spaces encourage communication & promote collaboration, making Ministry of Sound’s new office a co-working hub, reflecting their ethos of forward thinking.
