Founded in 2000, Black Swan is a global financial advisory firm based in the UK.

Black Swan tasked Direct Painting Group with the Cat B fit-out of a three-floor workplace, following their relocation from their former office in London. Black Swan wanted a workspace that combined both domestic design elements and modern features, creating an inviting yet bold and timeless work environment. Scandinavian design was the enabling principle for the fit-out, with other soothing finishes complimenting and completing the space.

From conception to completion, our team hosted several design workshops for the client – formulating a coherent design scheme that covered everything from function and impact to emotion and tactility. Ultimately, the client decided that the workspace would reflect the aesthetic of their global offices while establishing a distinct local identity.

The transformed space is a stylish and agile work environment that reflects Black Swan’s brand at the core of the design. The office is complete with both cellular and collaborative desking, supporting by focused and shared work. The shifted focus to collaborative working has effectively redefined employee and client experience at Black Swan with office furniture supporting shared-working reflecting Black Swan’s ethos of forward-thinking.

A thoughtfully-incorporated feature staircase that runs through each floor serves as an architectural gem that provides both focal drama and direct connectivity between the three floors.

The Scandanavian colour-scheme in the space has created an intimate feel, while the natural elements have added a raw aesthetic, effectively creating a comfortable workplace for Black Swan.
