The Sacred Heart College has a long and proud tradition of physical education, sport and sporting achievement. Through its excellent sports program, students from the College have proudly represented Australia in many national events.
The multi-purpose facility is a unique opportunity to support the College’s enviable sporting reputation. The facility is flexible, modern and innovative and caters as a large whole-school assembly space as its foundation but incorporates learning spaces building on and emphasising Sacred Heart’s strong sporting and sport science heritage.
The norther façade of the multi-purpose facility showcases a curved roof as a bold architectural statement. The ground floor of the building incorporates a ‘Hall of Fame’ display area allowing the College to showcase its achievements. Change rooms and weight training area have been provided in the basement, an innovative solution, which saves space on the ground floor and provides direct access to the oval. The viewing stand located on the western side of the reflects the materials and roof lines of the multi-purpose facility.
