Article source: Contacto Atlântico Arquitectos The Serra da Estrela Restaurant underwent a remodeling intervention to adapt it according to the brand concept of this famous chain of restaurants, known for its characteristic dishes of the gastronomy of the mountainous regions in the interior of Portugal.
In order to create an atmosphere which reminds the magic air of Serra da Estrela the largest mountain range in Portugal –, a modern and sophisticated design is proposed in shades of brown and beige, with wooden panels, furniture and flooring. Roundish orange glass lamps are hanging from the ceiling, creating intimate lighting at each table of the restaurant. The bar is composed of excellent Portuguese materials, such as limestone compact, wood, and bronze tiles, seeking to create a material harmony of warm and familiar tones. The intervention also renovated the organization of the restaurant, creating two possible ways of living that coexist within the same space: a seating area in the dining room, which allows for an extended stay, and a fast service line for take-out.
