Article source: Rizoma Architetture What’s “life” like in Rome? How do people live the everyday life and the nightlife of this wonderful and eternal city? In Rome a restaurant is never “just a restaurant”: it’s a place where you can enter even alone and always find someone to talk to and have an exchange with, a place where you can breath the intimate atmosphere of the real Italian hospitality.
A restaurant is “life” itself, a place where you can stop by for a few minutes for a quick lunch or until the early hours of the morning for a long and invigorating dinner. The concept for the restaurant VITA, inside the IBIS STYLES ROMA AURELIA, starts right from this idea, thinking about a place that will have a different life from the one that Rome has got: it will be at the same time a grocery store, a cafeteria, a bakery, a bar for aperitifs, a pizzeria, a restaurant for breakfast/lunch or for a private dinner to celebrate a special event. The brutalist structure in reinforced concrete of the beams and the pillars is in contrast with the use of natural materials such as the wood of the floor and the monumental tables, as well as the warm colour palette that recalls the one of the Roman buildings. Flexibility, hybrid spaces and comfortable areas: VITA is going to be open to everyone, hotel guests, locals, city users. An informal place enriched by the presence of Italian products and flavours, where food and drinks will be the leading actors of the scene, where the artworks of the roman artist Hitnes, furniture, materials and colours are going to give a unique identity to the restaurant.
