Article source: CORE architecture + design CORE partnered with Silver Falcon Capital to develop a new fast-casual prototype concept called Summerbird, that translates the client’s vision to celebrate both the American love affair with crispy and grilled chicken and the innate nostalgia of summertime. Taking inspiration from playing fields, parks, and public pools to evoke the warmth and energy of Summer, the design plays up bright colors, warm lighting, vibrant greenery, and natural woods.
The wood ceiling of the restaurant’s main counter tilts upward like a concession stand that declares it is open for the season. The summertime theme is further reinforced with faux greenery and a cascade of glowing organic lights inspired by evening fireflies. The dining area is grandly expanded by a tall garage door creating an indoor-outdoor space that is flanked by custom lampposts inspired by park lights. Interior elements that further enhance the brand include the hopscotch-inspired mosaic tile floor pattern featuring the Summerbird logo, which greets customers as they enter and serves as an intuitive queuing pathway to ordering. Near the entry, a bright orange swing sits in front of a wood and metal trellis twining with faux greenery, delivering an Instagramable moment. A municipal pool-inspired mosaic tile mural above the beverage station encourages customers to “Please Dive In” to this summer experience, while the pick-up shelving is made of real diving boards. The outdoor café includes a playful “swing set” table and other furnishings reminiscent of summer picnic style dining. Contact CORE architecture + design
