The client asked us to design an apartment inside of two fractions on the top of an under-construction building. They wanted a four rooms apartment with unified social areas and increased exterior spaces.
Being under-construction gave us the possibility to introduce a patio around which revolve the kitchen, the dining area and the living room. From here we defined the main axis which runs longitudinally across the house, dividing the social and private areas.
The choice of materials was limited to the ones available in the building so we choose the white lacs and paints to maximize the apartment natural lighting and wood panels in the distribution zones, in a dialogue between the abstract white and the concrete wood.
A new beach house has recently been completed in Aranya, Qinhuangdao, China. Qinhuangdao, with its geographic reason as having the nearest beach, is known as the most populous city for millions of people from Beijing and Tianjin to enjoy their summer holidays. Yet an-hour drive down south from the massive crowd, a small town – Aranya, for its serene beach environment and great community engagement, in the last 5 years has become the destination for the new middle-class, to pursue a “quality holiday resort” lifestyle, and ideal location for beach houses.
Located in a prime position within steps to the beach, this site not only takes in sweeping view of the sea without any obstruction, but also well enhanced by the pitched-roof“spiritual center”of the Aranya Chapel.
The initial objective was to design two houses, in a high slope area in the Mount Washington; Los Angeles downtown area.
The property is located on a hill five miles away from downtown Los Angeles. The slopes of the lot are variable. Towards the front of the lot, the slopes oscillate between 15 and 20%, in the intermediate area the terrain is flat and sharpens in the back with slopes of 45 to 50%. The house is located in the center of the lot.
It is a contemporary house built with the objective to make the maximum use of light and natural ventilation, the views of the city and a great connection between the interior and exterior of the house.
The residential building design demonstrates a meticulous focus on integrating green spaces and recreational areas throughout an entire structure; mid section of the first three floors, which are designated for parking, is hollowed out to make space for the trees. A spacious ground floor is apportioned to a recreational zone with a swimming pool and is enclosed by the sliding glass doors. The third floor functions as a recreational area.
A wooden texture paneling emphasizes the prominence of verdancy within the design. Shared rooftop also represents a green zone with a panoramic view of the city.
The building resides in a heavily populated area, but its design and location ensure, that the tenants of the surrounding residential buildings are also able to enjoy the city view.
La Fleur exists as the result of a renovation and extension to an existing 1920’s Queenslander home in Auchenflower, Brisbane.
During the planning stage of La Fleur, three primary focal points were established to direct and drive the design and build of the house. This included future-proofing the house to allow for a multi-generational life span of the dwelling, maximising cross-ventilation throughout the internal spaces of the home, and a high energy efficiency rating. This enabled the delivery of an incredibly spacious, open-plan style home that accommodates the vibrant and modern Brisbane lifestyle.
The building is a classic construction of the “Eixample” located on Buenos Aires street in the city of Valencia, Spain. It was built in 1934, and after years of neglect and deterioration, it has been restored to its original aspect that the passage of time and the lack of maintenance had made it lose.
It houses 18 apartments of different types that welcome visitors in an atmosphere of absolute comfort, combined with an aesthetic that transports you to the Valencia of the early 20th century.
The main guideline of this expansion was the idea of differentiating itself from the other neighboring houses. With the purchase of the adjacent lot, the clients were able to gain the necessary area so that the architects could develop the new program of the house.
Located on the Baleia Beach in São Sebastião, the house has eight suites, four of them facing the sea, all on the upper floor. The ground floor is elevated 2.5m from the street and gives privacy to the pool areas, deck, garden and balconies. These spaces, in turn, gain visual of the horizon. On the same floor are organized the living room, dining room, kitchen, office and TV room. The new proposal also includes a basement with garage for eight cars, service area and employee area.
Individual modern house is designed in a spacious plot surrounded by forest. The building is fuctionally divided into two parts: great room, outdoor fireplace and sauna with pool as active zone and bedrooms for resting in the second. Together these volumes forms a private inner courtyard with wonderful views. Large windows integrates interior spaces with surrounding nature. One more specific element of the building – large holes in the roof for additional daylight in covered patio, which also alows to see stars while spending time outside in the evening.

The project was born from the need to recover an old house located in the historic center of the city of Mérida, México.
Casa Deco is one of the few houses in the historic center of Merida that are characterized by having the architectural style that bears its name; This style was not the original style of the house but the result of a remodeling of the facade, so we decided to show the pre-existences both formal and functional that the house has suffered during its long life.
Surrounded by houses built in the 1940’s with sloping roofs covered by concrete tiles, the GN house stands out with its bright color and modernist simple shape. The house is slightly lifted from the street level and defined by a few basic materials and colors: concrete in white, steel and aluminum in black, and wood in its natural color.
