Bank of Thailand Learning Center in Bangkok by Creative Crews Ltd.

Thursday, March 12th, 2020

Article source: Creative Crews Ltd.

The BOTLC project presented opportunities to tackle two major issues simultaneously; preservation of National heritage and lack of public space for Bangkok.

The brief was to transform the redundant, historically significant, Thailand’s first note printing works into an Economic-Cultural Centre. The existing building was a factory and therefore has an impermeable quality. The adaptation removed solid walls and alter circulation routes so that pedestrians can penetrate to the very core of the building, reflecting its openness.

Da Wang Jing Mixed-use Development in Beijing, China by Aedas

Tuesday, September 24th, 2019

Article source: Aedas

Standing dominantly at the second largest CBD in Beijing, the Da Wang Jing Mixed-use Development designed by Andrew Bromberg at Aedas, is a dynamic commercial gateway at junction of the arterial expressway from the airport to central Beijing and the North 5th Ring Road, where it can be seen from distance like a shining urban oasis. The design juxtaposes the staid image of Grade A offices and corporate headquarters together with an amicable spatial experience to all users, making a vivid interpretation on Andrew Bromberg’s concept of “co-existence of people and nature”.

The five towers of the development are sensibly distant from one another, providing generous public spaces with greenery extending all the way to the Wangjing Park north to site. The design aims to accentuate its relationship to the surrounding greeneries, guaranteeing maximum permeability and encouraging public access. With its soft flowing garden-like temperament, the development easily distinguishes itself from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding commercial neighborhood as a truly human-scaled architectural expression.

Sede CAF Región Sur – Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina in Montevideo, Uruguay by LAPS Arquitectos

Wednesday, September 18th, 2019

Article source: LAPS Arquitectos

“Sede CAF Región Sur” is the result of a national architecture competition promoted by the Development Bank of Latin‐American and sponsored by the local government of Montevideo in 2012.

By terms and conditions of the contest, a mix‐used program building was required, in the historic city center of Montevideo ‐ the “Old City”‐ a sector full of history and strong urban symbols, next to the limit with the “New Expanded City”.

The Bank headquarters, a cinema complex for “Cinemateca Uruguaya”, the relocation of the historic “FunFun” bar, 150 public parking lots and public changing rooms, are the main project areas. The conditioning and recovery of the immediate urban environment are key requirements of the entire proposal. The biggest challenge then was to achieve coexistence within a single building and urban space, such diverse functional requirements.

In the location behind the Solís Theater, there was an existing building, the Former Central Market, which was almost abandoned and deteriorated, as well as its nearby public spaces.

Friday, August 30th, 2019

Article source: Brett Farrow Architect

Brett Farrow Architect has designed the new headquarters for C3 Bancorp in the Southern California coastal community of Encinitas.

The locally owned bank was designed as a combination retail branch, corporate offices and semi-civic space.  Facing directly onto Coast Highway 101, the building uses custom white concrete to echo the nearby coastal bluffs while large operable glass areas create a transparent connection between the interior work spaces and lushly planted courtyards and atrium.

Marine grade stainless steel cladding was custom tinted and combined with western red cedar at the ceilings and eaves.

Thursday, May 16th, 2019

Article source: VYOM

As India’s financial headquarters, the Rajaswa Bhawan, or the National Tax Headquarters proposed at Kasturba Gandhi Marg in the heart of the capital New Delhi, represents the morals affiliated with the country’s economic aspirations.

With its history dating back to more than a thousand years, Delhi has been witnessing a continuous change in its architectural identity, owing to the shift in the central administrative power. The amalgamation of the two predominant styles seen across the city, forms the basis for Indo Saracenic architecture. Used extensively by the British, this revival style defines public and government buildings, including palaces of the princely states built during the nineteenth century. With the site located in the vicinity of buildings such as Rasthrapati Bhawan, Hyderabad House and the Jaipur column, the design of the Rajaswa Bhawan has been directly influenced by Indo-Saracenic architecture.

Capital Select | Capital bank of Jordan in Amman by Paradigm design house

Monday, November 19th, 2018

Article source: Paradigm design house

Capital Select is located in Abdoun – Amman; the capital of Jordan. This building communicates with its surroundings, speaking the language of light and translucency. The openness toward the street was achieved through having the inner court experience adjacent to the nearby street, while the translucent mass offers vibrance in lights and shadows to the surrounding context at night and inversely during day time.

The idea of a “boutique bank” experience triggered the design concept of this branch introducing a sense of belonging and a welcoming feel influenced by nature, while tailoring the individual experience of the bank users.
