When you start a new project, you always try to make it as accurate as possible in the place and time. To do this, we usually do extensive research, we necessarily leave for a place and spend there a few days, “breathing” with local air.

In the case of the VIP hall of the new Rostov airport, we stopped on the theme of the nature of the south of Russia, namely the beauty of the spring steppe, full of amazing flowers and herbs.

Cucurico in Lisbon, Portugal by DC.AD

Wednesday, March 13th, 2019

Article source: DC.AD

Cucurico represents a restoration and refurbishment project for a churrasqueira (Portuguese chicken grill-house) covering an area of 230m2, located in the LxFactory complex in Alcântara, Lisbon. The area is located within a commercial area, characterised by its industrial past, and spans a broad space with its roofing in iron and glass held up by the metallic pillars that punctuate the space according to a strict geometry.

The brand set the framework of a young and urban language able to serve to leverage an informal and welcoming ambience. Within this scope, this sought to reinterpret the traditional churrasqueira concept as a shared imaginary of Portuguese culture while transplanting it into contemporary times through the choice of materials, colours and furniture design.

Wednesday, March 13th, 2019

Article source: A4A Rivolta Savioni Architetti

With twice the surface area, the coffee shop has been completely renovated, giving it a fresh, welcoming and comfortable new atmosphere.

A bright colour palette distinguishes the new decor. The checked wallpaper recalls school exercise books, the stepped seating and the screens modulate the space over which the lightweight and graphic lamps glide. The bar is tiled with coloured joints.

Particular attention has been given to the research of the materials: marble chip for the tables, brass for the pendant lamps, the fabrics for the cushions made in Senegal by a women’s cooperative. On the ceiling wood fibre panels for soundproofing.

Lviv Pub in Ukraine by balbek bureau

Tuesday, February 26th, 2019

Article source: balbek bureau

There is a catchy wordplay in the Pub’s name in Ukrainian, but when translated word-by-word, rather than as an idiomatic expression, it is invariably associated with youth, fun and healthy leafy greens.

The Pub is located in Lviv city center, in a three-storey converted industrial building. Two large rooms on the ground floor and enclosed cobblestone courtyard have been integrated into the Pub’s design.
