The project is a residential property sales center located in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Before entering the building, visitors need to pass through a front courtyard. The yard depicts an elegant Chinese ink wash painting where cranes rest or flap wings on water surface, and acts as a prelude to the interior of the sales center.
More than 10 years in the making, the $52.7 million expansion and renovation of the Montana Heritage Center will be a state-of-the-art repository for the state’s historic collections and resources, serving as a place for learning and discovery. When complete, the project will nearly double the size of the existing building and include 66,000 square feet of new space, plus exterior and interior renovations to 66,995 square feet of the existing 1952 Veterans and Pioneers Memorial Building. The Cushing Terrell design melds new with historic, using the space between the two structures to create a dramatic entry that will seamlessly connect the two facilities.
Kamenice Strojmetal is mainly engaged in the production within the automotive industry. At the same time, it is involved in innovation through development of superconducting materials. As part of the extension of the company’s premises, a requirement to create a Technology Center (TC) for the development and diagnostics of Strojmetal products has occurred.
At the new Visitor Centre Österild designed by CUBO, the architecture creates a unique setting for exploring the forces of nature, when giant turbines turn wind into green energy. Visitors can explore the world’s largest wind turbines placed on land and gain extensive knowledge about the wind turbine technology.
The centre is placed next to the Danish National Testing Centre where research and technology of the wind turbine industry is conducted in collaboration with DTU and other institutions, that research, develop and test prototype wind turbines and turbine technology.
The “Hello BABY” children’s center is located on the first floor of a residential complex in the central part of the city of Dnipro.
Initially, the architects of SVOYA STUDIO had the task to design a new additional space for the existing center with their own identity. In the process, the name and branding were developed anew by Alexander Sidorenko, according to a new design concept.
Building D(emountable) is a modern, sustainable and fully demountable structure on the site of a historic, monumental building complex in the center of Dutch city Delft. This site is owned by cepezed, an agency with expertise in the development, the design and the realization of buildings.
Creative cluster
cepezed acquired the complex with former laboratories from Delft University of Technology in 2012. It transformed the monumental buildings into a creative cluster with housing for various companies in the creative sector, including the office itself. However, the only non-monumental building on the site was in poor condition. It has now made way for the new construction of Building D(emountable). Again, this is a full-blown own development of cepezed and again it is intended for companies in the knowledge-intensive creative industry. It houses a the app and website developer 9to5 software and a game developer Triumph Studios.
The design strategy for this 1960s Tennessee replacement welcome center on I-55 was guided by a desire to bring awareness to an architecturally under-explored building type and by simple, sustainable building principles and passive energy saving techniques—selected to reduce taxpayer costs over the lifespan of the facility. The building is poised to become the State’s first net-zero energy building, upon installation of the solar arrays. With the arrays installed, the building will generate more energy than it uses over the course of a year. Sustainable design features include a high-performing building envelope, efficient building systems, and passive techniques include roof overhangs and sun shades. The site was analyzed to determine the optimal building orientation.
The Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center is the new home of the Detroit Pistons and latest NBA training facility. Located in New Center area of Detroit, it is approximately two miles north of the Little Caesar’s Arena, where the team plays. The franchise moved into the facility in October, 2019.
The 185,000 SF multi-functional facility brings the Detroit Pistons basketball and business operations together into a new class of NBA training facilities and headquarters integrated on an urban campus. The Performance Center is adjacent to the new William Clay Ford Center for Athletic Medicine. A 125-foot enclosed glass walkway connects the building to give the team access to injury diagnosis and rehabilitative treatments.
Costa Rica Athletic Center creates small village amongst tree tops.
As an extension to the Gilded Iguana Hotel in the town of Nosara, The Athletic Center was designed as a small village amongst the trees that creates a public space which integrates locals with visitors with similar interests of pursuing an active lifestyle and wellbeing.
The site is situated in an incredibly central location acts as a perfect “adhesive” for retail, sports, and leisure which in turn coexist within the exuberant nature. A surf-shop, bike-shop, gym, and multiple studios for Jiu Jitsu, yoga, and personal massages create the perfect atmosphere for those wishing to come to Costa Rica in search of activity and fun.
The construction of the Jaurès recreation center provided the city of Athis-Mons with an opportunity to equip itself with a facility for small children adapted to open learning methods and at the same time help to reduce the pressures of the towns growing population.
The zone is characterized by its geography, a very fragile alluvial plain between the Seine and the Orge, which was ideal for locating important railway infrastructure and urban development stretching lengthwise form the southwest to the northeast. This area is subject to a number of rights of way exposing it to important nuisances. Thus, the Jaurès school complex plays the strategic urban role of liaison with the rest of the neighborhood. The school complex stands in a residential area comprised of a number of period buildings of varying typologies. The urban challenges of the project were to create a pleasant entry opening onto the pedestrian area and the church of Notre-Dame de la Voie as well as to undertake an urban and architectural recomposition in which the recreation center plays the role of connecter between the different scales.
