Located in the burgeoning town of Asbury Park, the Asbury Ocean Club, Surfside Resort and Residences is a new mixed-use project on the beachfront. The building design is an homage to the beach house vernacular – simple materials, open, light and airy. The 17-story building will offer sweeping vistas of the Atlantic, and the tower's balconies extend out to accentuate the horizontal quality of the views.
The combination of service-oriented business with new business forms is a trend. The designer experimentally integrates the subsidiary functions of the project with main business, re-optimizes the main functions of parent-child sports training, and builds the project into a comprehensive space for swimming and sports education, integrating entertainment and leisure.
The entire parent-child swim club is divided into five main functional areas and some auxiliary functional areas, all of which are centered around the behavioral habits of its target audience. In order to break the limitation of the spatial floor plan, the designer has worked out a streamlined flow after fully considering the user habits and potential behaviors of different target groups, so that adults, children and infants could all enjoy its caring service on this line.

Project La Vela is a new development with 181 guest rooms,2 restaurants, a spa, a beach club and a large swimming pool. The project is located on an 8th century trading route, a fact which inspired the development’s creative layout.
The project architect chose a triangular-shaped configuration where the lines connecting the three vertices represent strength and connectivity and suggest the sightings of stars which travelers used as reference when traveling at night. Such sight delineations are useful to sense the ‘space’ and ‘place’ of vast areas. Moreover, when multiple triangular shapes are layered over one another, they accentuate a sense of greater connectivity between different areas and expose spaces that were once hidden from view.
The Pacífico Sur Club, which was founded in the 60s in Lima´s coast, has a surfing tradition. Seventy five percent of its associates practice this sport: surfing defines what the sea means to them. As it usually occurs with other buildings of the time, it became necessary to formulate a series of changes that would cover the new needs of the associates.
The changes had to be respectful with the essence of the club, that is: its unique character and the contact with the sea. Every change had to be careful in improving the functional aspect, as well as strengthening the spaces. New materials to match with the already existent were to be implemented.
It seems like an era has passed since I met the client. It was 2014, a peculiar year during which Robin Williams left us, Germany won the football World Cup and we Italians found out that there is a great woman amongst us: Samanta Cristoforetti, the first Italian woman to take part in the international space station, an epic challenge.
So many details were missing to our adventure, though. The location and the name for this new haunt were still missing.
But I met a man, Rodolfo, a man with a concept, an entrepeneur, a little bit of a dreamer, with an important and new idea that needed a perfect sartorial dress.
The X-Room is a concept room inside TED burger and lobster. It is an open space complementary to the restaurant project. The room is a secret club, a bar, an event and exhibition space: a true cultural and artistic venue. The design of the space is inspired by the Eighties, and combines different elements: elegant and refined mirror cladding, velvet upholstered seatings and curtains are apposed with rough textures of construction materials voluntarily left unfinished. Grey walls are a perfect support for the colored lighting effects which continuously change the mood and atmosphere of the room.
