Businesspark Breitensee in Vienna, Austria by HOLODECK architects

Wednesday, October 29th, 2014

Article source: HOLODECK architects

The central urban business location is transformed to become an intelligent and functional business park with urban flair. The resident production companies are supplemented with offices, studios and manufacturing plants from the creative industries and are converted into the ambient business park breitensee. The residual voids create a three-dimensional development of alternatively allocated exterior areas, which double up as office terraces and also help boost communication and shape the identity of the business park.

Dongdaemun Plaza Kiosk in Seoul, South Korea by NL architects

Tuesday, October 28th, 2014

Article source: NL architects

Young Joon Kim (yo2) is the supervisor of public space of Dongdaemun Plaza in Seoul. He has invited 10 offices to create 3 small kiosks each.

The idea is to eventually construct 30 booths that will provide room for different functions; a series of mini buildings for exhibitions, commercial activities, exchange of information, surveillance, interaction. The stalls range in size from 4, 6 to 9 m2. But what is a kiosk?

Until recently the site was occupied by two large stadiums (for baseball and soccer) that almost touched each other; a surprisingly intimate urban gesture.

Article source: MBAD ARQUITECTOS+X ARCHITECTS

As an oasis in the desert….interior oasis exterior oasis….just like an illusion….a powerful experience, to use, to be, to stay in, to see….

An oasis is an isolated place of a desert in which we found water and vegetation, that is to say more or less extensive portions of land fertilized by a water source in the middle of sandy grounds. in these places it can have small establishments inhabited; besides giving cultures to the near settlers, they serve to supply to the thirsty travellers and caravans; some times these were confused by optical illusions called mirages.

KEYPARK in Ankara, Turkey by VEN Architecture

Wednesday, February 19th, 2014

Article source: VEN Architecture

The project is located at the junction of two busy boulevards, Alacaatl? and Beyler blvd. The units constitute a wide-low  rise commercial campus, spread on an inclined corner lot, giving different volume and depth perception from different perspectives. The concept is established on two notions: urban permeability and human scale. The relationship between the boulevard and courtyard-square is supported by the voids among the masses lined on the periphery of the lot.
