Muangthongthani Carcare in Nonthaburi, Thailand by Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated

Friday, March 15th, 2019

Article source: Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated

The building is located on a 300 square-meter plot of land. This long and narrow plot requires an in-depth organization of the building. The façade of the building faces south while the other side faces east The neighboring building is a car care center which belongs to the same owner. Since the space of the car care center is too limited, mainly because of the closed coating area where protection from dust is much needed, a new space is necessary for project expansion.

Tuesday, March 12th, 2019

Article source: SPF:architects

Perched atop a Bel Air hilltop, Orum is a three-level, 18,800-square-foot home designed to subtly “float” above its environs.

Given its prominent positioning above a relatively developed neighborhood, the motivation behind the design of the home was to create a residence that could meld into its surroundings while maximizing views. The three-story structure, which takes on the shape of a three-winged propeller, is wrapped in glass that mirrors its sweeping views of the Los Angeles Basin, unobstructed from the Getty Center to Long Beach, Century City, and Downtown.

Monday, January 21st, 2019

Article source: Bloc Architects

The Forest House is an exploration into materiality, light and the integration of architecture into the landscape. Situated in an exclusive forest estate in Durban, South Africa, the forest house strives to frame the landscape with clean horizontal lines.

The home celebrates raw materials, which helps soften the transition between built form and the precious landscape that surrounds it.  This raw materiality reinforces the honesty behind the architectural tectonics of its construction.

Article source: ARCHIMATIKA

The first residential complex in Ukraine based on the block development principle, instead of customary Soviet micro-district type.

Different number of stories of adjacent buildings (ranging from 2 to 16 floors) forms a picturesque image of every street. A restored park with perennial trees, sculptures and a fountain, block development, pedestrian courtyards where you can play with children – all that makes this residential neighborhood intimate and cozy. It has set a new level of quality in a residential building due to the block development. Thus, the industrial territory turned into a good living environment and the status of the district as a whole increased. Residents have received a complex, comfortable environment with green pedestrian courtyards. Full infrastructural service includes fitness clubs, stores, kindergartens and schools.

Comfort Town is one of the most successful residential property projects in Ukraine. Sales indicators peaked at over 200 apartments per month.

Villa P in Brixen, Italy by Christian Schwienbacher

Monday, January 14th, 2019

Article source: Christian Schwienbacher

The design of this house is the result of the relationship between the individual functions: on the south side of the building, the living room and the kitchen are on the same level with direct access to the terrace. Behind the kitchen there is the “Stube room”, behind the living room the library. Upstairs there are bedrooms and baths. In the basement there are cellars, the garage and technical rooms. Formally, the building is a soft butterfly-like shape with rounded corners, where each floor is not exactly on top of each other.

HCO Morumbi in Brazil by Gálvez & Márton Arquitetura

Thursday, December 20th, 2018

Article source: Gálvez & Márton Arquitetura

The project focuses on the client’s need to have a home that brings the feeling of being on a flat surface, reason why, the project needs to be created picturing a firm ground, a solid base, and a light construction (bearing in mind that the landscape is unleveled in 30m, from front to back. Therefore, an artificial plateau is created, respecting the side and rear setbacks, based on the tennis court and the garage, which are built on a solid surface. This way, the building respects the restrictions of the São Paulo City Hall and is inserted in the landscape in a balanced way between the entrance and the main courtyard (social part of the house), both having a similar relevance in area, each with its particular characteristic, both in function and in form. The house was designed seeking to provide nearby and distant views.
