Rehabilitation of Convent of Santo Domingo for Exposition Hall in Huéscar, Spain by elisa valero arquitectura

Sunday, July 16th, 2017

Article source: elisa valero arquitectura

This work is based on an initial project by Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas.

Three years after the arrival of the Dominicans to Huéscar 1544, they built their convent on the plot.

The convent complex had to be traced according to the models then in force for that class of buildings: a quadrangular organism with four wings around a central cloister and laterally attached church. Only one part was built.

North Vancouver City Hall in Canada by MGA | MICHAEL GREEN ARCHITECTURE

Friday, May 5th, 2017

Article source: MGA | MICHAEL GREEN ARCHITECTURE

The City of North Vancouver’s 38,000 sq. ft. renovation project expanded the existing 1970’s modern heritage building into a recently vacated library structure, with a new bridging atrium. The design team’s goal was to create a very public building; about the community and for the community. The design is open and transparent. The main link between all departments and the public is found in the 67 metre (220 foot) long atrium space. The design creates a flexible, productive working environment for the diverse services offered to the public in the building, and reinforces the city’s aspirations to showcase their new sustainable city mandate.

Stadthalle Hall F in Vienna, Austria by Dietrich | Untertrifaller Architekten

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017

Article source: Dietrich | Untertrifaller Architekten

The new Hall F is an ingenious addition to the previously less developed southeast side of the monumental complex of Wiener Stadthalle, creating impact even on its own. The concert, show, dance, fashion and even circus venue sits 2,000 spectators. Furthermore, congresses and conventions can be facilitated. Even though it is a particularly appealing urban location, the new edifice does not steal the spotlight from Roland Rainer’s hall, which was built half a century prior.

Article source: v2com

Electronic music is a new subject for architecture. Most of the times electro nights take place in spaces that were not specially designed for them: clubs or night clubs, warehouses, fields, stadiums… For the Grenoble project, the aim was to invent a specific architectural system for a new type of spectacle and relationship with the public, whilst allowing concerts with a more traditional configuration.

Thursday, October 27th, 2016

Article source: Main Office

The reconstruction involves a well-known older building from 1892, of great historical value, as well as neighboring courtyards.

The ”Culture arena” is the heart of the building. The old auction hall has eight meter ceiling height, and is the most elaborately detailed. It has a lobby, lounge, and restrooms, and can be used for banquets, art shows or concerts.
