A new Social Services Hub and Affordable Housing Building, this is a catalyst for the City of St. Thomas’ renewal strategy for Talbot Street, St. Thomas’ main street. The 36,100ft² GFA building is designed as a civic gateway, adding modern urban fabric replacing a parking lot. It is also intended that future buildings on the site will frame a central public parkette linked to all adjacent streets with walkways.
Adamant is a complex of 30 levels of mixed uses that is located in the city of Puebla in Mexico, specifically at the urban intersection of El Periférico and Via Atlixcayotl, becoming a leading sustainability project in the most important development area of the city.
The Building is located in Polanco, one of the centers of greatest urban intensity in Mexico City. It consists of 3 independent towers that are articulated to generate a central patio that allows the construction of a community space that constitutes the identity of the complex and is qualified by its friendly proportions for the scale of the building.
On the border between Saint-Servan and the Bouvet basin of the port of Saint-Malo, the project should connect two environments : one urban, the other port.
This small, sober and discreet architecture is an important part of the port identity of this changing district. Inspired by the image of the docks of yesteryear, it frees itself from them to play with skewed lines and offer chiseled volumes, precious and contemporary prisms.
The Yards is a 232 unit multi-family apartment building in the Stockyards District of Kansas City. Authenticity to the Stockyards past and creative present was the driving force behind the design.
The result of the Australis Development at Rossmoyne Waters by Hames Sharley was an intelligently designed communal space that heavily focused on being legible and easy to navigate. The design resulted in a centrally focused spine of activity and green encouraging a connection of spaces, both internally and externally. Succinctly, the proposed development makes a positive contribution to the streetscape and amenity of the locality, through the high-quality architectural design as well as redeveloping a currently underutilised site in a manner consistent with the overarching state and local planning framework. This development was the first stage of a wider master-planned development of the senior housing site in Rossmoyne.
A customised (ware)house where everybody lives like nobody else.
On the border of Haarlem’s historic city centre, a new warehouse has been built. 8-storey residential complex, De Scheepmaker, is a new addition to the Dutch skyline, but is so logical that it looks as if it has been there for years. It is recognisable by its warehouse-inspired typology, stepped roofline, and vertical glass cut. The stepped terraces allow sunlight into the street and compliment the scale of the surrounding architecture. The contemporary translation of industrial brick architecture is discernible by the masonry details in the facade, a tactile feature also made interesting for passers-by up close.
The Lloydquarter has a rich maritime history, dating back to around 1900. The Lloyd Pier owes its name to the Rotterdamsche Lloyd shipping company, that built a terminal on the pier from which its passenger ships departed to the east of the world. The SAWA building owes its name to the trampled form with generous green terraces, as a reference to Eastern rice fields and the history of the place.
“Mori Haus” is located in the growing fringe of Bangkok near a canal, grassland, and residential area. It is a challenge of fitting high-density dwellings into the local neighborhood and maintaining the peaceful atmosphere of its surrounding.
The two blocks of seven-story residential buildings are located along the site perimeter to maximize the central garden. While the third building is a one-story facility building and situated in the openspace between the two residential blocks. The arrangement creates a connection with the triangular common green area in front of the development and highlights the drop-off. It functions as the main lobby before letting residents walk through the landscape to each residential block.
The program is aimed at intergenerational housing with 8 housing units intended for seniors (3 T2, 5 T3), 1 T4 housing unit intended for a student flat share, and the rest of the housing units intended for families.
The 15 parking lots planned for this operation will find their place in the silo parking lot of program A to the north of program B.
The 2-wheelers will be sheltered by the porch, accessible from the ground floor, at the interface between the street and the heart of the block to the south of the building (51 m²).
