Vjenceslav Richter’s 1961 project exposé for the building of the Museum of the Revolution starts thus:
“The purpose and idea of this museum is to safeguard the truth about us. From this follows its extraordinary importance, which has found its confirmation in the assigned location.
This site-specific light sculpture marks a new era for the museum, igniting the majestic circular stair at the heart of its historic interior. Conceived as a perfect circle in elevation, the sculpture is in dialogue with the stair so that old and new are joined in one experience.

As part of the‘RIBA Shanghai Windows Project 2014’ UNStudio was invited by China Xintiandi to create a gateway installation for the XintiandiStyle Retail Mall in Shanghai.
Located along Madang Road and framing the entrance to the mall, the project conceptually explores the role of display in Shanghai: the symbiotic relationship of cultural reflections that occur between the city’s occupants and the urban landscape.
This Project is located at Constituyentes 1072, one of the main avenues in Mexico City. The architectural approach integrates a front entry plaza that works as a boundary or transition between the building and the street. The office complex integrates 5 levels and has the great advantage of inserting natural day lighting in all four facades. All the floor plans are equal besides the fifth floor which has a frontal cantilever that is being supported with a metal structure of 23 meters of altitude. The main disadvantage of this structural skeleton was that is exposed in an area of high exposure.
The tortoise: the tomb of Bigness Shields, barricades and public squares
It is now more than 20 years since Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas published the definitive version of his theory of Bigness. This eulogy to Bigness has since become a classic work, allowing an understanding of both the end of the Modern era – from Mies van der Rohe to Le Corbusier – and the dawn of vast projects bearing the names of a few major figures, including Rem Koolhaas himself. “Beyond a critical mass,” Koolhaas explains, “each structure becomes a monument, or at least raises that expectation through its size alone.”

The cola-bow is a public art installation made out of more than 17.000 recycled plastic bottles, which were braided to create a shape inspired by the swings of the Coca-Cola logo.
More than 17.000 bottles were collected by a joint initiative of universities around Beijing and Coca-Cola China to give citizens a bottle of Coke for every 10 empty ones brought back to a recycling spot. The amount of collected plastic bottles ended up in an entrance conopy to the 2nd universal university creation expo.
Built for the 2013 Beijing Biennale, the Cube was designed with the intention of challenging the perceptual reading of the volumetric object. Beginning with this iconic and basic geometry, the overall scheme is designed to maintain the clear presence of the six-sided object in space.
