This Place is a digital design studio with locations in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seattle. The design for their Seattle workplace in the Fremont neighborhood illustrates This Place’s core work approach, emphasizing collaborative, open and multifunctional spaces. The digital design studio is divided into three interconnected zones: a collective open workspace at the core that encourages focus, with semi-private project breakout spaces to encourage collaboration and multi-purpose social areas radiating from it and ringing the perimeter. A seamless adjacency between the three zones reflects This Place’s interest in cultivating an open-ended creative work environment.

The grassy roof slopes towards the south and provides an uninterrupted view over Oslo fjord’s isles and reefs.

How to insert an object in the context of an avenue dominated by green and trees? The RCF building seeks to dissolve into the landscape of av. Getúlio Vargas, Curitiba, Brazil, dominated by vegetation. Thus, it would make a hybrid between object and landscape. In this way red appears as a counterpoint, as presence.
The project was born from the positioning of the apparent concrete structure on the perimeter of the building. This solution, traditional in Brazilian modernist architecture, which also serves as a vertical brise, frees up the internal space that free of structural elements enjoys broad future flexibility. From this action, the construction process made the act of filling the void of the structure. Thus, between the openings were positioned glazing frames and modulated windows with maxim-air frames that allow opening even in typical rainy and hot summer days. In the east and west direct insolation facades were placed metallic shutters for better solar control. The building also has green ceilings, north and south facades with double ventilated facade in ACM. AQUA Certified Building. The plant has slight curvature to accommodate the narrow terrain and respect the setbacks required by legislation.
DIA –Dittel Architekten and die wegmeister agency have created a new interactive world of experience for visitors to the new TransnetBW main control centre building in Wendlingen. The aim of the concept was to illustrate and bring to life the complex contents of the transmission system operator. The focus was on playful communication of information in digital and analogue form, the realisation of the information to create a functional design concept as well as on an intuitive visitor orientation. The architecture firm wma architekten wöhr mieslinger assoziierte in Stuttgart is responsible for the new modern building.
The visitors’ area extends over a light-filled passage which extends from the reception area to a gallery on the first floor and an interactive zone. On this path, the visitor dives deeper and deeper into the subject matter, the highlight being an unobstructed view of the control stand with its 12-meter-wide, high-resolution monitor wall. Here, the system management engineers control the high-voltage grid for the control area of Baden-Württemberg, keeping it in balance in close cooperation with the neighbouring German and international control areas.
The hotel features 162 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop infinity pool, events pavilion and terrace, and a vibrant Victorian dining and retail arcade.
