Article source: Clayton & Little

Originally constructed in 1894, a devastating fire claimed the historic Pearl Bottling House in 2003. Pearl salvaged as much from the rubble as possible, and hired Clayton & Little to rebuild the 13,132-square foot-structure as a modern interpretation of a lost Classical Revival jewel that would serve as a venue for emerging chefs and culinary talent.

Wednesday, April 29th, 2020

Article source: R79

With several years of path and delighting the most demanding palates in Yucatan, GLaR decided to start a new gastronomic adventure, on the same steaky line but this time with a new approach, resulting from traveling and the enthusiasm for Texan cooking.

The first step was finding the perfect place, so after months of search, it was found, a little jewel in a quiet area in the north of the city. It was suspended on time; the past owner was an old lady with a particular taste in gardening. This was the triggering point: the lush vegetation.

Olive Oil Museum in Algarve, Portugal by VT Arquitectura

Thursday, April 16th, 2020

Article source: VT Arquitectura

The Olive Oil Museum, is located in Bobadela, Oliveira do Hospital and was a dream of the owner, António Dias, who had a collection tracing the history of the production of olive oil, from the time of the Romans to contemporary times.

The concept of space was designed as a metaphor, it should be an iconic image that people would easily recognize. The idea of combining the use of an iconic image with colors and shapes that integrate with Nature has always been present and thus the idea of the olive branch arose.

Fresco in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Hitzig Militello Architects

Sunday, April 12th, 2020

Article source: Hitzig Militello Architects

The project has been influenced by modern, neutral and industrial details. The neutrality is given by the balance of its materials and its shades of white. All its materials have been used in a bitonal balance of black and white, except for details in corrugated aluminium and the black rubber floor.

From the beginning we understood that the brand is, as its name indicates ( Fresco means Fresh in spanish ), a place whose identity is marked by the nature of its simple materials, its fresh and natural products as well. From this reflection we have suggested to implement a nature of alive presence and prominent avoiding to fall in the use of static nature. This nature is form and function in all its interventions, they work as a light system and as an active landscape in several of its bars.

Prime + Proper in Detroit, Michigan by McIntosh Poris Associates

Friday, March 27th, 2020

Article source: McIntosh Poris Associates

Site:

The 11‐story Capitol Park Building, built in 1912 by Leonard B. Willeke, blends Chicago School architecture with Beaux‐Arts decorative designs. It was originally home to a butcher, grocer, and a variety of tenants throughout the years, including the White Room Studios where musicians Aretha Franklin, Kid Rock, and Bob Seger recorded their hits. As Detroit experienced an economic downturn, tenants left the building and the structure became increasingly vacant. By 2009, the last business, a liquor store on the first floor, was gone and the building was sealed up and abandoned.

In 2016, the building was purchased by Grand Rapids, MI, developer Richard Karp and work crews began renovating the structure into the Capitol Park Lofts, a 63‐unit residential complex. The project includes the Prime + Proper restaurant on the ground floor and lower level, and a floor of office spaces above. The surrounding Capitol Park neighborhood is being slowly revived with similar developments, including apartments, restaurants, and a hotel.
