Bruciato in Washington by Eerkes Architects

Thursday, February 27th, 2020

Article source: Eerkes Architects

Located on Bainbridge Island, a short ferry ride across Puget Sound from Seattle, is James Beard Award-nominated Chef Brendan McGill’s latest pizzeria and bar, Bruciato. Designed by Les Eerkes of Eerkes Architects, the restaurant’s 2,100-square-foot space originally served as a hardware store. As part of the renovation, the interiors were stripped back to their essence to showcase the beautiful exposed bow string trusses, the bare wood ceiling, and the raw concrete floor. White-painted walls and a limited palette of materials were introduced to create a simple backdrop for an eclectic set of repurposed furnishings and objects. Together, these natural elements help to tell the story of the wood-fired pizzeria’s sophisticated farm-to-table approach, dedication to the Neapolitan standard, and the purity of traditional cuisine.

The project is located on Chizar Sq. in Tehran, Iran. It covers a surface of 300 sq. The initial position of the project aims to provide a unique Restaurant where knowledge sparks will be lighted through multidisciplinary communication. The concept of this design roots in the traditional form of Iranian architecture. Space is characterized by the use of traditional arch form, which visually defines the space organizing the functional program: an amazing Entrance, kitchen, dining areas, a virtual reality room, and a coffee shop. In order to achieve a modern space alongside a symbol of Iranian architect for the users, two groups of semicircular arches are set in the main hall and they continued to the facade. These overhead arches aim to separate the whole large space into several delicate smaller zones in which sound fields are more focused and clear.

Chef’s Brothers Restaurant in Tbilisi, Georgia by artytechs

Friday, February 14th, 2020

Article source: artytechs

We aimed at changing the existing environment without major reconstruction. Therefore, we decided not to stick to any particular style, we wanted to come up with something that would suit all ages and tastes. Existing walls, windows, and apertures have been maintained and there were no substantial changes made in the bar and kitchen.

The most attention is drawn to the wall with different figures, which reflects the character of the nineteenth century and is interestingly blended in modern interiors. The figures themselves are in motion, reflected in golden cubes painted with modern methods.
