Iberico – Bar de Tapas in Craiova, Romania by Picktwo Studio

Tuesday, August 14th, 2018

Article source: Picktwo Studio

Iberico – Bar de Tapas is a small restaurant and bar in Craiova, the 2nd largest city in the southern part of Romania. As suggested in the name, we went for a Spanish feel and atmosphere for this place, situated in the old part of the town, with 1900s neo-classic houses. Our client fully reconditioned a 2 stories house, with a bar on the Ground floor and serving tables on the 1st floor.

Mindet 6 in Denmark by C.F. Møller Architects

Monday, August 6th, 2018

Article source: C.F. Møller Architects

At Mindet 6, close to the Port of Aarhus, a bright, sculptural tower and landmark will combine city life and cultural history with attractive new cultural and business facilities, together with public restaurants.

The starting point for the tower is an existing historical industrial complex, with its legacy of the port’s industry and culture in former times. The impressive building structure will be preserved and supplemented with a new tower. The tower will be integrated into the existing complex, from which its basic geometry will be derived. The historical qualities of the existing building will continue to be apparent, and will also gain new life from being opened up towards the surroundings, to create attractive outdoor and indoor relations. On the roof of the old building, a new, publicly-accessible green rooftop garden environment will be established, and will include a restaurant, orangery and kitchen gardens.

Article source: Phoenix Wharf

Pigsty, a new neighbourhood restaurant and bar on Bristol’s Gloucester Road, has opened for business, with all interior design and graphics on the scheme created by Bristol-based hospitality and retail specialists Phoenix Wharf. The 100-cover space, aimed at families, couples and group diners, offers high-quality dishes based around good quality, local produce and the company’s own pork products from The Jolly Hog – all prepared with taste, flair and heart and served in a fun, stylish and contemporary environment. Pigsty also includes a bar with a takeaway area, offering cooked and fresh Jolly Hog sausages and bacon. The interior concept mixes town-and-country via old and new industrial elements, butcher’s shop tiling (some dating from around 1920, from an original pork butcher on the site), plus warm green herringbone timber and playful pink-grouted green ceramic tiling and graphic slogans.

Social housing in Paris 18°, France by Gaëtan Le Penhuel & Associates Architects

Friday, August 3rd, 2018

Article source: Gaëtan Le Penhuel & Associates Architects

This urban and architectural operation, must demonstrate the added value of density in the city. It must also be an opportunity to “re‐enchant” the site of the ‘Porte de Clignancourt’. This Paris gate, now noisy and busy, is in full restructuring with the arrival of the tramway. We are betting to imagine for the future, the emergence of a renewed identity for a neighborhood located in the heart of the green belt.

Naiipa Art Complex in Bangkok, Thailand by Stu/D/O Architects

Tuesday, July 31st, 2018

Article source: stu/D/O Architects

Naiipa (Literally means ‘Deep in the Forest’) is a mixed use project consisted of an Art Gallery, Sound Recording Studio, Dance Studio, Restaurants, Coffee Shops, and Office Spaces. It is located on Sukhumvit 46, a small street that connects Rama 4 road to Phrakanong BTS Station on Sukhumvit road. The project is named after the concept of concealing the architecture in the forest as the vision of greenery is expanded by using reflective glass all around.

Upon arrival, visitors are greeted with the project’s main feature and driving force in design, a groups of large, pre-existing trees in its center. From the very beginning, the goal of Naiipa has been to create architecture that seamlessly co-exist with the trees, providing a peaceful and inspiring art community for both its occupants and visitors.
