Living between city and park: the best of both worlds.

Here on plot A6 there has been created the perfect combination of the liveliness of the city  with its nice small boutiques and terraces on the one hand, and the relaxation of the national park with its beautiful trees and immense green area for strolling, on the other hand. Therefore two urban blocks have been formed around green courtyards which are attached to the mountain park.

Joule’s Lab in Guadalajara, Mexico by deFORMA estudio creativo

Thursday, March 28th, 2013

Article source: deFORMA estudio creativo

The inspiration for this project was the typical American Drugstore, a place where it could be understood as a design store with a combination of a laboratory where this cleanses are made. The colors and the construction elements would give that language, clean white with glass wall in the Lab, black flooring with traditional mosaic from Guadalajara and brick walls for the whole store.

Galaxy Soho in Beijing, China by Zaha Hadid

Thursday, January 17th, 2013

Article source: Zaha Hadid

The Galaxy SOHO project in central Beijing for SOHO China is a 330 000m2 office, retail and entertainment complex that will become an integral part of the living city, inspired by the grand scale of Beijing. Its architecture is a composition of four continuous, flowing volumes that are set apart, fused or linked by stretched bridges. These volumes adapt to each other in all directions, generating a panoramic architecture without corners or abrupt transitions that break the fluidity of its formal composition.

Mercator Center Maribor in Slovenia by Studio Kalamar

Saturday, December 8th, 2012

Article source: Studio Kalamar

Mercator Centre Maribor is located in a densely populated part of Maribor, which distinguishes it from typical suburban retail centres. The large centre is therefore more open, has several entrances, oriented not only to visitors who come by car but also to pedestrians. Entrances are typologically accentuated and stand out from the neutral sheath. They lead into interior malls and squares, creating an urban experience of a real city. With the uncontrolled versatility of visual impulses from the shops left and right we devoted our attention to design of the floor and ceiling, which bring some architectural articulation into the diversified space. The floor is defined by sand-coloured ceramics with a diagonal darker path leading from one side to the other and back.

Balance between the new image and the concept, in a modern and innovative design, are also the elements for the interior design project for the Polanco store ILÓ. Benetton Headquarters in Tehran, Iran by Htdstudio Designoffice

Friday, May 18th, 2012

Article source: Htdstudio Designoffice

A Landmark building near Tarjish Square.
Isolation of floor units anticipate future seismic activity.  Staggered juxtaposition maximizes views, and creates various ‘green shelves’ for rain capture, irrigation, and shading during summer months.  These green shelves accommodate lush, climbing vines and vegetation for sound absorption and passive temperature control.  Cast glass discs are embedded at the ground floor and parking slabs for natural light and weight reduction.
