Mindet 6 in Denmark by C.F. Møller Architects

Monday, August 6th, 2018

Article source: C.F. Møller Architects

At Mindet 6, close to the Port of Aarhus, a bright, sculptural tower and landmark will combine city life and cultural history with attractive new cultural and business facilities, together with public restaurants.

The starting point for the tower is an existing historical industrial complex, with its legacy of the port’s industry and culture in former times. The impressive building structure will be preserved and supplemented with a new tower. The tower will be integrated into the existing complex, from which its basic geometry will be derived. The historical qualities of the existing building will continue to be apparent, and will also gain new life from being opened up towards the surroundings, to create attractive outdoor and indoor relations. On the roof of the old building, a new, publicly-accessible green rooftop garden environment will be established, and will include a restaurant, orangery and kitchen gardens.

265 West 45th Street in New York by RB Systems

Wednesday, June 6th, 2018

Article source: v2com

The project explores a novel and captivating tower typology which emerged in New York in the last years — “The New York’s Super Slender”. Located on a small, currently vacant site on West 45th St which footprint measures at approx. 30x30m only, the tower rises to 400 m in height, and provides modern, ergonomic, sustainable office spaces for multi-floor corporate tenants. The project is another take on a path which skyscraper design will likely be following in the coming years, to meet extreme challenges of constrained and dense city centers, with their shortage of big vacant lots, yet ever-growing demand for new properties.

Helix Residential Tower Vancouver in Columbia by MA2

Thursday, April 12th, 2018

Article source: MA2

The concept proposal is a residential tower that aggregates, turns, shifts, connects and radiates across the skyline of Vancouver. The tower is a submission for iconic tower designs for sky-high living and dynamic structures.  By having a residential tower that rotates as its ascending vertically with a bifurcation connection, its gives the tower new possibilities in its performance and iconic presence. Helix formations and spiral lattice structures influence the tectonic shifting and architectural logic for structural and visual resilience. Tower connections with multipurpose spaces and clubhouses add to the dynamic ambiance of sky-high living and poly-valiant architectural expressions.  The tower design was conceptualized to be an expression that can position itself in a multiple selection of sites across the globe giving it a universal strategy and resonance.
