THE EXPO-AXIS Gates in Shanghai, China by SBA International

70 Million expected visitors were welcomed by the entrance building of Stuttgart architects SBA International on EXPO 2010.

On 1 May 2010, EXPO 2010 was opened in Shanghai. The EXPO-AXIS presents itself to visitors as a colourful symbol of the world exhibition and the town of Shanghai. With a length of almost 1000 meters and a width of more than 100, the EXPO-AXIS reaches from the main entrance square across the complete EXPO area and down to the banks of the Huangpu river. It is one of five buildings that will remain standing after the world exhibition to later form the centre of a new quarter of Shanghai.

Ice Free in Oirschot, The Netherlands by UArchitects

The existing offices are combined with an salt storage and garages for snowploughs and gritting trucks. The arrangement of the plot is based on the typology of a farmyard. The different functions are organised around an open court, visible from the office.

Omroep Brabant is a regional broadcasting company. It touches the peoples hearts in the Brabant region. COEN! Translated this feeling into the new interior of this organisation. A warm welcome in the entrance hall, a poem and floor pattern about the purple heath and subtle translation of the typical Brabant flag. A visualisation of tradition in a modern entourage.

Nieuw Leyden in Leiden, The Netherlands by 24H Architecture

Within the urban plan of Nieuw Leyden, 24H architecture design two ecological houses. The building block consists of 18 houses, designed by different architects. There are no regulations of the beauty commission, so the future owners are free to design their house, as long as it fits within the provided building envelope.
