The single-family housing project with 420 m², located in a residential condominium in the city of Natal- RN, served in a bold and elegant way the purpose of welcoming a young couple with two children. The project design started from the intention of creating large rooms which comfortably would promote dialogue between the exterior and the interior of the residence, using an architectural language inspired by international style. The adopted party was guided by integration and spatial and visual flow between the indoor and outdoor areas, with a view to compliance with the bioclimatic conditions.

Glam Seamless in New York by Sergio Mannino Studio

Sunday, December 23rd, 2018

Article source: Sergio Mannino Studio

Glam Seamless is a well-established online business dedicated to high-quality, high-end hair extensions founded by Alexandra Cristin. Until now, Glam has been an entirely online venture. Earlier this year, Cristin contacted Sergio Mannino to create her first shop in Soho, NYC. A few months down the track, and Glam Seamless is up and running.

As an online business, Glam is pink, white and – you guessed it – glam. We needed to translate this brand into a physical space; at Sergio Mannino Studio, this is our job, and we love it. Designing the ‘physical version’ of an online brand is always an interesting challenge – and we know how important it is to succeed at the first attempt.

The salon is a smooth cream and millennial pink, with shimmering ombre string curtains defining and separating the two areas of the store. Together with the color scheme, the curtains contrast elegantly with the clean, modern-retro-inspired lines of the salon counters and displays. The displays are part glass, part sheer surface and part handmade pink Terrazzo tiles.

Friday, December 14th, 2018

Article source: FRAN SILVESTRE ARQUITECTOS

A glance over this place shows us a C-shaped space, which fits the proposed program. It is a small office dedicated to customer service. The rectangular floor plan, to which the communication core of the residential building in which it is located is subtracted, distributes the space in a large corridor attached to the dividing wall and two rooms.

Veranda Villa in Poland by BLUEROOM

Wednesday, December 12th, 2018

Article source: BLUEROOM

For a rural location just outside Istebna in the Southern Polish Beskidy mountains, BLUEROOM has designed and delivered a Villa. The Client requested a unique destination for family get togethers, to receive and entertain guests, and to rent out as a holiday home. The design merges the progressive desires of the Client with traditional vernacular design regulations on a strongly sloping site. This generates a Villa with two faces.

Kanoko Building in Kyoto, Japan by EASTERN design office

Monday, December 10th, 2018

Article source: EASTERN design office

This architecture might remind you of the images of

  • Kanoko, a fawn drinking water, “Kanoko” means a young deer in Japanese
  • Like a collar of a Kimono
  • Like Origami , folding paper work
  • A huge thumb pointing to the ground
  • An asymmetric shape

The site is situated on a corner, so you can see two facades of this building. This is the first building that catches your eyes when you get out of the station.  Accordingly, we have designed this building not just as a simple cube, but as a funny and interesting form composed by two sides of the façade in order to make people create various images.  It is designed sharply, clearly and dynamically.

University Center Maria Antonia in São Paulo, Brazil by Una Arquitetos

Thursday, December 6th, 2018

Article source: Una Arquitetos

Maria Antonia Street is a historical reference for the University of São Paulo and a mark in the cultural and political life of the city. As the address of the Mackenzie College since the end of the 19th century, the Maria Antonia Street became a catalyser of academic and social discussions after the establishment of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters at the Rui Barbosa Building, on 1949.

After a violent invasion of the building, by a group of right wing students, escorted by the police in 1968, the Faculty of Philosophy was transferred to the campus of the University (Cidade Universitária).
