Hub Board Game bar in Wuhan, China by Wuhan pures design limited company

Wednesday, December 20th, 2017

Article source: Wuhan pures design limited company

This project locates at the Jianghan Road, Wuhan,China. It is a BG (Board Game) bar, and also provides light meal and coffee. HUB is the name of this bar, and it is also its brand culture, aiming at offering a communicative and free space for consumers. By analyzing different kinds of Board Game, such as chess games, strategy games, thematic games, etc, we consider the whole place as a game arena and each consumer will play a role in it. Our design enables each consumer to find his own unique position in the bar. Each unique position is connected which forms a huge net. Everyone in this net can observe, communicate and take part in others’ activities. Briefly speaking, consumers are playing games, and they themselves are in the game, too. This is the aim of HUB.

Lakeway Residence in Texas by Clark | Richardson Architects

Wednesday, December 20th, 2017

Article source: Clark | Richardson Architects

The Lakeway Residence is a contemporary luxury home located in Lakeway, Texas, nestled in the rolling Central Texas Hill Country. This 4 bedroom, 4 bath residence is positioned on a gently sloping site oriented toward distant views that emerge as the treetops descend down the hillside. The double courtyard parti frames outdoor spaces both to the North and South of the residence. To the North, a drive court allows ample space for vehicular access while setting the main entry and massing off as a composition. Passing through the foyer, the high-ceiling living room opens West to a formal dining area and gourmet kitchen on an axis transverse to the courtyard parti. Continuing to the South, 10’ double sliding glass doors open softly to a large pool deck wrapped by the main spaces of the first floor. The long open floor plan, tall ceilings with ample glazing, and the courtyard parti all work in harmony with passive solar principles and prevailing breezes to allow for an efficient green design.

Paraje Barrank in Mexico City, Mexico by anonimous

Tuesday, December 19th, 2017

Article source: anonimous

The void of the patio organizes two volumes of five levels with 10 apartments measuring 138 m2 each, in the south of Mexico City.

The lattices and spatial organization of the adjoining constructions help to inspire a project that looks inwards.

With an area of 20 x 25 m, the apartments take advantage of the whole frontage to ensure that rooms are filled with light and air. A corridor links the volumes on the south and north sides, and the courtyard between them.

Friday, December 8th, 2017

Article source: Aresto Arquitetura

The single-floor residence project, developed in the city of Itupeva, had the challenge of meeting the proposal of a house that combines economy, constructive speed and comfort.

To save money, the first idea was to adapt the project to the existing topography. The lot has a very accented slope, and had some flat areas made by the previous owner.

Narrow House in London, England by FORMstudio

Thursday, December 7th, 2017

Article source: FORMstudio

The narrow deep plan of this tall terraced late 19th century building was ill-suited to its previous use as offices, with escape distances pre-determining the necessity for the centrally located lift and stair core that sub-divided the floor plate into small inflexible work spaces.

This configuration was, we recognised, ideally suited to the creation of residential space though, with naturally-lit rooms of domestic scale located to the front and rear, and support spaces located inboard around the retained central stairs and lift. A use further suggested by the domestic style of the Dutch-gabled brick front elevation.
