This multifunctional studio theatre with production and support spaces provides Boston University’s internationally acclaimed School of Theatre with a 21st-century learning environment for collaboration and experimentation. Collocated on BU’s Charles River Campus with the rest of the College of Fine Arts for the first time in decades, the theatre creates a new era of engagement for the University community, the Town of Brookline, and area residents. With its dramatically reflective façade framed by a delicate concrete scrim, the 75,000-square-foot theatre complex delights and instructs, giving architectural form to Hamlet’s injunction to the players “to hold, as ‘twere, the mirror up to nature.”

Ministry of Sound are an entertainment giant founded in 1991. This project marks a new business venture for the Ministry of Sound brand. Initially, they wanted to construct an exclusive co-working space which would inspire & encourage collaboration among professionals. Ministry of Sound wanted to establish a space which was both unique & modern in it’s design, whilst reflecting brand identity & company culture at the core of the space. Throughout the project’s 16 weeks duration, multiple design workshops were hosted for Ministry of Sound, allowing our designers to develop visual concepts & grasp a deeper understanding of the Ministry brand, enabling this to be reflected throughout the design.
Given the extension of Catholic community and the increasing in tourist in Samui island, Suratthani, who wishes to participate the mass in the then chapel, Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, came up with the idea to build a new church and name it as Mary Help of Christian church. Located across from the St-Etienne station on the Esplanade de France, the influence of the intervention at the heart of the ZAC Châteaucreux is a link between neighborhoods and horizon lines, a low point in the topography of St-Etienne in front of a preferred route to the city center. Combined with the scale of the project and the symbolic value of the program, this unique location gives the project a special status in the construction of the city.
This custom modular home was designed to leverage existing prefabrication methods by working within factory limits to efficiently produce a home specific to the client and the site. Here, the client’s brief called for a casual, light-filled summer retreat, centered on maintaining a fluid indoor-outdoor connection with exterior spaces for lounging, playing, and entertaining.
While the house is larger than the nearby cottages, it was important to the clients to be a good neighbor. So, the main level is broken into two smaller volumes and clad in weathered gray cedar. Without a formal front door, a welcoming tree-lined autocourt leads to an entry deck. This covered deck is created by a spanning second story that defines the threshold between public and private.
The pilot program reclaimed an existing elementary school’s underutilized, overgrown and rat-infested courtyard. It was redesigned as garden beds, teaching kitchen and education pavilion. The structure encompasses a teaching wall, tables with seating, and covered area for outdoor learning.
Inspirational places empower educational programs. Two new additions to Powell Elementary School, bring a historic building into the 21st Century. Sustainable strategies are built into this LEED-S Gold building, because a healthy school is a healthy learning environment. Three key concepts of the design are outdoor programming, daylighting, and fresh air.
The house is situated a few miles outside the predominantly red-brick town of Dundalk in the sea-side village of Blackrock. The clients, a retired couple, sought a modestly-sized, low-energy, warm and welcoming home that enjoyed sunlight all day long.
The selected site was the last in a row of plots which were being sold-off in a piecemeal fashion on former agricultural land. As such, at the time of design there was no immediate built context, only the surrounding meadow, zoned to remain undeveloped, and an incomplete access road. Topographically the site sloped down to the south from back to front, overlooked the meadow to the west, and would adjoin future neighbours to the east.
The Wuzhou Urban Multi-fiction Center (refers as WUMC) locates in the old downtown of Wuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; it is backing the Baiyun mountain and facing the Xijiang river. Some historical architectures could be found around its neighborhood, like the sien temple, arcade corridor mega blocks, sun yat-sen memorial hall and sailors eudemon temple.
Along with the development of new downtown, the decentralization has emerged in the old downtown; therefore, renovation or revitalization has been the main objective of this project.
