Architecture always offers the opportunity for recreation of an era, being reveling in the cultural level, habits and civilizing degree and development of a certain population.
This ocean front residence captures the sense of indoor-outdoor living by introducing large cantilevered decks and roof decks. Designed for an active family who loves to cook and entertain, the ability to do so on each level is a driving element. As a measure to preserve the integrity of the dune, the house is pulled back from it to create three distinct experiences on each level. The ground level is nestled behind the dune and provides for a mixed wood and concrete paved patio with a pool, outdoor fireplace and covered ping-pong area. Areas on this level intended for storage and lower level entry are enclosed by a combination of glass and concrete walls. The main floor is accessed from an exterior cantilevered stair that leads to the central light filled atrium. This main level houses all the bedrooms and a centrally located family room. This house is designed as an upside down house, giving the most spectacular views to the living, dining and kitchen on the top floor. This floor takes advantage not only of the southern exposure and views, but provides for adequate solar control. The main deck allows for an extensive herb and vegetable garden, outdoor cooking, entertaining, and lounging.

Tanada, terraced paddy field, widely appears to its south and the west. My first visiting of this site was in early summer, three years ago. Bright green and reflection of water of the rice field just after the rice-planting, natural sounds of breeze rusting the leaves of lemon trees and Magnolia figo slightly and sound of running water from the waterway had created comfortable scenery there. It was calm place and there was nothing to cutting off my view from the site.
CHROFI was selected through the City of Sydney Design Excellence Competition for a landmark residential tower on Macquarie Street, Sydney for Stamford Property Services.
The building built in 1961 is located in the upper part of the country, surrounded by vineyards and orchards on the edge of the woods, on a spur of porphyry and offers panoramic views over the Adige Valley and the town of Lana, as well as on the tops of the group Tessa, Merano, and those of Val d’Ultimo and Passo Palade.
Our project consists of alterations and additions to an existing 1890’s duplex cottage on Bellevue Terrace in Fremantle.
The briefed starting point for our intervention was to improve the relationship between internal and external spaces that previously suffered on account of a 1.5m level variance and the inconvenient location of an existing bathroom.
Roebourne Children and Family Centre has been designed to provide licensed child care places to mainly Aboriginal Families in the region. Additionally the family centre component supports community groups and organisations by providing a multi-purpose activity space, kitchen, crèche, and a counseling room and medical examination suite focusing on child and youth issues.
This project is an extension of the existing factory, reclaiming ground adjacent to the jungle in Johor, Malaysia. The factories in the 19th century gave priority to rationality and productivity, so we wanted to transcend the factory typology by incorporating elements that would make the Islamic workers proud of the new working environment they would be facing.
