Villa M is a family building of ca.150sqm situated in the hills of the Ligurian Riviera overlooking the Gulf of Ospedaletti. The L shaped building is composed on a single floor with a courtyard to the center. The volume responds to the surrounding landscape focusing on the main view and sunlight. The existing site was defined by a terraced environment which was maintained in the new project without touching the existing walls and avoiding excavation. The building is situated in a residential environment distinguished by a typology of mansions, nevertheless, the villa responds and preserves the natural scenery of the coastline and its facade is inspired by with the typical dry stone walls of the Ligurian terraces.
The Thai well-known architecture firm Ayutt and Associates design (AAd) designs a latest modern vacation house at Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand in the gated-residential community. The site is surrounded by national forest and heritage mountain, Where the natural curtain of lush tropical trees surrounds the site, whilst its slightly slopping terrain offers an ideal location for the house itself. The owner bought this 6 standard plots of land which is almost 10,000sq.m. of site area. This gated community is nothing new, just like the standard community in Thailand. All the standard houses are designed in the same way by copy and paste with bad ventilation, bad taking view and similar look for all the house types. Thus, the owner asked AAd to design their dream vacation house instead of buying the standard house from the developer.

In different terrains and contexts, Brazil have the opportunity to live in the forest: either in the field or in town, interspersed with remnants of native forest. Enjoying the climate and the contact with nature is, for those who design it, a challenge but also a privilege.
The premises for the development of the proposal seek to establish a direct relationship of all the internal environments with the external natural landscape, composed of leafy trees, by implanting the residence in the upper part of the terrain. Hence, the generous openings and balconies conform spaces fruition. The intimate area of the house, which houses 3 bedrooms and a living room, is located on the upper deck.
The MA lounge is located on one side of the front garden of MA House. They share landscape, garden, and cross views. It has a very specific program, and of temporary use: it is the space of shade next to the swimming pool, the place for readings and games near the water, the space designed for the body and its cares.
The Lounge establishes a clear dialogue with the MA House. which it completes. However, despite working with the same language and materials, the project seeks to create a world of its own, centred on the coexistence of the exhibition of an open world, with vigorous vegetation and light in abundance and a large pool with variable section to allow various uses against a small intimate patio, of very controlled scale and uses where the body and scale of the user is the main actor; a space where the protagonist is the definition of a very forceful limit, with the stone and the vegetation that is conquering.
The project is conceived as two blocks, where one rest upon the other. Both with different characteristics and treatments. The lower one is treated as (one big portico / a big space structured by one single portico) that contains the social spaces, all linked and well integrated, thanks to the use of sliding glass panels, to the exterior. While the upper one has, facing the outside, a series of archeries that reveals the partition of the spaces it contains, as well as the private condition of the same. Even so, without losing the direct relationship with the outside world.
